Books for Kids – Annual Book Drive

books-for-kids-poster-20081

Every year between Thanksgiving and Christmas we collect book donations. They come from homes where the children have outgrown the books and the family needs the space.  Or maybe they just want to help someone else.  We take the books and redistribute them to organizations in our valley that work with families whose Christmas might need a little help.  In the past we have donated to The Violence Free Crisis organization, Youth Court, a local girls’ group home, the local youth shelter, and others.  Each year it changes. So….on December 19th this year we will bag up all the books in nice bags with ribbons and drive around like the Book Santas making our deliveries.  Great fun!

Bigfork High School Scholarship

Every year we select a Bigfork High School senior to receive our Auerhammer Professional Services scholarship. Many students apply and the decision has become more challenging every year. This scholarship always goes to a young person who will attend one of the many fine colleges or universities in Montana. We know that post high school education makes a big difference in a person’s life in many ways, and we want to promote this in addition to helping these fine individuals.

Pro-bono Services

Sometimes people simply don’t have the money for services, they don’t have insurance, or their insurance ended in the middle of the case.  And other things happen, too.  We won’t terminate the case midstream so we have been known to donate services until the case is resolved.

Reduced Rate Services

Sometimes people can  pay a little – far below our usual rate.  We talk it over and find out the reasons they can’t pay, and discuss just how much they can afford.  Money stress is woven intricately through mental health problems so it cannot be a deterrent for people to get care.

Co-pay waiver for children’s services

Nothing more to say.  We expect deductibles to be met, however, co-pays, when the main client is a child, are waived in cases where money is a hardship, and often for CHIP and Medicaid clients.

Igherm Library Restoration Project in North Africa

A nonprofit endeavor to build a library in the Atlas mountains of Morocco that will serve 5000 Berber villagers in three villages.  We are part of the book donation portion of this project.
